Panthers Defeat Edge in Thrilling 5-4 Victory

The Central Penn Panthers hockey team secured a 5-4 victory over the Long Island Edge, clinching their first win of the season on Tuesday night. Th e game was action packed from start to finish with four goals scored in the first period and three in the second.

Vaughn Winter opened the scoring for Long Island, netting his fifth goal of the season assisted by Gregory Nolie. Jack Gibbon quickly matched him with his fifth goal of the season, assisted by Kane Leaman for Central Penn. Jaiden Batista gave Central Penn a 2-1 lead moments later, scoring unassisted to make it 3-1 by the end of the period.

Gavin Reisdorf extended Central Penns lead early in the second period, scoring his fourth goal unassisted before Lorenzo Vetere made it 4-2 with a power play goal. Kyle Yates then gave Central Penn an even bigger cushion with his first goal of the season and an assist by Jonny Boozer. Jaiden Batista sealed the win for Central Penn with another power play goal and assists from Asherpaul Putt and Jonny Boozer. Nicholas Michener added an insurance tally right before time expired to bring home a 5-4 victory for Central Penn.
