Optional Skates Beat South Shore Snipers 9-5

The Optional Skates dominated the South Shore Snipers in a 9-5 victory on Saturday afternoon. John Murray, Ryan Murray, Aidan Ryan, Justin Silverstein, Bryan Rosen, Chris Kehoe, Matt Russo, Casey Epstein, Mike Carro, Brett Epstein, Nicholas Lang, Jon Russo, Michael Levi and Joe Hirschbein from the Optional Skates were instrumental in the teams success.

James Brophy (South Shore Snipers) scored the opening goal of the game before Nicholas Collins, Josh Gilbert and Arturo Salazar made way for Anthony Errico to double their lead. Paul Whaley then added a third goal for the Snipers. However their momentum was shortlived as Lang and Russo scored two goals each to equalize the score before halftime. Matt Hartman of the Snipers had a great chance to regain their lead in the second period but just missed out as they conceded another goal to take the scoreline 4-3.

The third period was all Optional Skates as they added 2 more goals courtesy of Rosen and Epstein while Russos goal sealed a 9-5 victory for them. Chris Kehoe steered clear of trouble with 3 saves in his 45 minutes stint between the posts while Josh Gilbert of South Shore Snipers also made some wonderful saves – but he ultimately ended up on the losing side in what was an exciting hockey game with plenty of goals scored by players from both teams.
