The Saugerties Mustangs faced off against the Clifton Park - 16U Futures at home on Saturday, and the Mustangs emerged victorious in an exciting 4- 1 finish.
After a scoreless first period, Jacob Stephany got the Mustangs on the board with a goal at 1:00:51, assisted by Liam Webb and Sean Hughes. Ethan Cataldi scored shortly after at 1:10:27, making him the game-winning goal scorer and increasing the Saugerties lead to 2-0.
The Clifton Park - 16U Futures scored their lone goal at 02:23:15 with a shot by Seamus Lyons, but a third period strike by Sebastian Burnett sealed their fate and extended the mustangses lead to 3-1. The final goal of the game came from Burnett again with just 45 seconds left in play.
This win brings Saugerties season total to 6-2; an impressive showing for the team who only began playing 3 weeks ago.
