The New York Stars captured a thrilling victory over the Toms River Blackhawks in a fast-paced game that included numerous goals for both teams.
In the first period, Alan Litovsky (#9) earned the Stars the first goal of the evening and James Lamantia (#14) quickly added a second one just 14 seconds later, boosting their lead with an unassisted game-winning goal.
The second period was just as exciting, with Aden Shimunov (#19) scoring off assists by Matthew Almeida (#21) and Mitchell Basin (#61) scored on his own , increasing the eventual winning total to 4. The Blackhawks added a power play goal in response thanks to Colin Costellos (#20) hat trick but Dante Divitas (#88) gave the Stars a 5th point; bringing the final score to 5 - 1 in favor of New York.
The New York Stars are now leading the league and will compete for further success in their following upcoming games.
