The New York Stars - 16U Futures took home a victory over the Woodbridge Wolfpack recently, with two goals from Braden Murphy, one goal and two assists from Jason Radu, one goal and one assist from Ryan Checkett, and two goals from Daniel Stoin. John McCarthy Jr. also added a pair of game-winning goals for the Stars.
An impressive move early in the first period saw Braden Murphy net his first of the game to start off the scoring for New York. The excitement built as John McCarthy Jr. followed that up minutes later with his first goal, assisted by Jason Radu and Ryan Checkett. He logged another just before the end of the first to put New York ahead by two.
To open up the second period, Andrew Kline put one past Stars goalkeeper to get Woodbridge on the board. Daniel Stoin struck back quickly however, tallying his second goal off an assist by Anthony Russo only a minute after Klines goal to keep New York in firm control of the matchup. The Stars powerplay held on for a 4-1 win at full time.
