The Long Island Gulls (Mack) defeated the Red Bank Generals by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday night. The game-winning goal was scored by Zachary Dreyf uss at the 1:09 mark of the third period. Dreyfuss was assisted by teammate Lucas Zuzzolo, giving him a total of three goals on the night.
The Gulls got out to an early lead in the first period with a goal from Dreyfuss and another power play goal later in the period from Zuzzolo, who now has six goals this season. However, Red Bank responded with goals from Kyle Livingston and Gavin Mindel in the second period to even things up at two apiece.
That set up Dreyfuss for his second goal of the night, and he delivered with an assist from Zuzzolo with just over a minute remaining in regulation. The Gulls extended their lead and successfully defended home ice to move above .500 for the season.
