Sports Article: The Wilmington Jr Seahawks toppled the Carolina Stars - 10U Silver in an exciting finish, as Lincoln Short scored the game winning goal with only 7:55 left on the clock. Short was able to put his team up 3-2 with a solo effort and from there, the Stars offense couldnt muster enough pressure to capitalize.
Cayden Cilinski started the scoring frenzy for the Seahawks with two goals, one in each of the first and second periods. His first goal was assisted by Tyler Karg, who logged his seventh point of the season.
The Stars werent without their moments either; Luke Mavin was able to tie up the game in period three thanks to a pass from teammate Robert Greene. Though it ended up not being enough for Carolina, Greenes point total increased to twelve on the season as a result of his assist. In total, seventeen shots were taken between both teams with forty one minutes of penalties served amongst them.
The final score ended up being 3-2 in favor of Wilmington Jr Seahawks, bringing them to 5-1 on the season while Carolina falls just below 0.500 at 3-4. It remains to be seen whether or not they can rebound after this thrilling match and remain competitive this season.
