On Saturday, February 6th, the Capitals Academy hockey team prevailed in an overtime victory against their Mid State Mustangs opponent. The game en ded 6-5 after an exciting match that came to a thrilling conclusion at the hands of Mateja Marden.
It was an evenly fought contest, with both teams trading goals through the first three periods. The touchdowns were scored by Henry Tasikas (1), Charlie Wisniwski (2), Lincoln Hillsberry (3), Theo Ehn (2), Ryan Gotthold (1), Maxen Piper (1), Aiden Pavlik (1) and Kellan Yingling(1) for the Mustangs, respectively.
The Mustangs had a 5-4 lead when the third period came to a close and it looked like they had done enough to secure the victory but fate had other plans as Mateja Marden scored a clutch goal in overtime with help from his teammate Charlie Wisniwski, giving his team the edge and clinching an incredible win.
