New · Score ticker
Add your score ticker tape to your own website.
Your team's or tournament's scores, scrolling across your own site as games are scored in the GameTime app. Pick your colors, copy two lines, paste. It's free.
Find your user id
The ticker shows the games scored by one GameTime account. Your user id is the number at the end of your standings link, https://gametime.news/standings2.php?user_id=1018. The example below uses 1018, a real tournament account.
Score your games with the free GameTime app, then sign in here and this page fills in your id for you.
Make it yours
Everything you change shows on the ticker right away, and the code at the bottom always matches it.
Your embed code
Paste it into your site
Copy your embed code from step 2 and paste it where the ticker should appear. Most website builders have a block for your own code:
- WordPressAdd a Custom HTML block and paste the code into it.
- SquarespaceAdd a Code block, set it to HTML, and paste.
- WixAdd Embed Code (Embed HTML), choose Code, paste, and make the box wide and about 60 pixels tall.
- Google SitesChoose Embed, then Embed code, and paste.
- Your own HTMLPaste it anywhere in the page's body. The two lines can also go in different places: the
divwhere the ticker shows, thescriptonce per page.
- Does it update by itself?
- Yes. It checks for new scores every minute, so games show up as they are scored. You can change how often in step 2.
- Can I show more than one ticker?
- Yes. Add one
divfor each, with its own settings. The script only needs to be on the page once. - Will it clash with my site's design?
- No. The ticker keeps its styles to itself, so your site cannot break it and it cannot change your site.
- What does it cost?
- Nothing. Each score links to its full box score on GameTime.news.
Every setting
For people editing the code by hand: each setting is an attribute on the div. Changing one later, from your own script, updates the ticker right away too.
