The Carolina Stars responded quickly, with Luke Mavin finding the back of the net just over two minutes later.
As time wound down in the second period, Libag managed to send a shot past the Stars goaltender, making it a 3-1 game as time was still counting down. With only 2:17 left on the clock, it became clear that this would be the winning goal for Wilmington. Libag would go on to score another goal assisted by Braedic Boren before time expired, giving them a 4-1 victory and securing their win.
