The Hampton Roads Warriors and Valley Jr Dawgs faced off in a thrilling hockey game on Saturday night, with Valley Jr Dawgs ultimately coming out v ictorious by a score of 8-5.
The first period saw five combined goals from both teams, with Luke Vincent of the Warriors and Blake Bethiaume of the Dawgs accounting for two each. The Warriors Isaiah Rawls tallied one as well, assisted by Michael Granata and Izarra Mitchell. Valley responded by quickly adding four more goals in the period.
In the second period, John Kenney and Jiacheng Guo both found the back of the net for the Dawgs to put them ahead 7-5, while Isaiah Rawls scored his second goal to keep it close. Valley sealed the win with a late goal from James Marra assisted by Kenney - his third assist of the game.
Valley’s victory was punctuated by impressive performances all around, though it was ultimately Marras goal that proved to be decisive and secured them the win.
