Saratoga Youth Hockey Win a Thrilling OT Game

In an exciting match up, Saratoga Youth Hockey defeated the New York Apple Core 6-5 in overtime. It all came down to the final minutes, when Aiden Harvey scored the game-winning goal 4 minutes into the overtime period. Sean Ward begun the scoring for Saratoga Youth Hockey in the first period with a goal assisted by Jayon Carpenter. Ethan Kelsey scored shortly afterwards to give them a quick 2-0 lead. Nick McAvoy and Issac Shultz drove the momentum forward with an assist to Aidan Flemings goal to make it 3-0 before the end of the period. The New York Apple Core responded with two back-to-back goals in quick succession, courtesy of Declan Curry and Dylan Boening, making it 3-2 going into the second period. Dylan Boening extended their lead with a power play goal midway through the period assisted by Nick McAvoy and Gavin Nichols, making it 4-2. However, Saratoga Youth Hockey responded with two late goals from Aidan Harvey and Maddox Pemrick to tie up the game 5-5 and force an overtime shootout. Just 4 minutes into OT, Sean Ward was able to put away his second goal of the night, cementing victory for Saratoga Youth Hockey 6-5!
