The Red Bank Generals showed their strength yesterday in a 7-5 victory against the Flyers Youth. Aidan Guli and Christopher Liantonio led the way f or the Generals, each scoring two goals over the course of the game. Guli scored once in the opening period, getting assistance from Nicholas Belotti, and again 12 min later, when he scored an unassisted goal. Liantonio scored back-to-back goals late in the first period: first with Ryan Gottliebs assist and then alone.
The Flyers Youth put up a good fight, with Isaac Cavanaugh and Brendan Rodgers both scoring goals early on in the first period to bring their team to a tie at 4 points apiece near halfway through. Dalton DiRosa assisted Cavanaughs goal while John Walker assisted Rodgers. The game took a turn late in the second period when Liantonio helped give Red Bank a substantial lead by scoring his third goal of the game and making it 6-4; Gottlieb contributed an assist for this goal as well. The Flyers werent about to give up though; Jayson Luciano responded with 5 minutes left to play with William Hinchs help to make it a 7-5 score but that was as close as they would get as Red Bank eventually closed out the game.
