The New York Stars secured a hard-fought victory over the Exton Kings tonight, thanks to solid offensive performances from Jack Owen, Nicholas Card i, and Luke Mohan. After an explosive second period, the Stars earned themselves the 3-1 win.
Jack Owen was the match winner for the Stars, scoring a hat trick in the game. It all began with his 8th goal of the season in period 1 off of assists from Patrick Sullivan and Jesse Goldstein. He tallied his next two goals in period 2 -- one off a Nicholas Terranova assist and one unassisted.
Nicholas Cardi also chipped in with two goals on behalf of the Stars, firstly with a goal 9th goal of the season off assists from Jesse Goldstein and Patrick Sullivan at 8:24 left in the 1st period. His next came thanks to an assist from Patrick Sullivan on a power play at 2:30 left in period 2, boosting his total to 10 goals this year. Despite his efforts, Jack Owen ended up taking home Game Winning Goal accolades for his heroic hattrick performance.
Luke Mohn managed to put a goal on board for the Exton Kings early in Period 1 but it wasnt enough to earn them any points as they eventually lost by 2 points within 14 minutes of clock time at 3-1.
