With 1:15 left in the game, Cole Lucas put the Mustangs ahead with an unassisted goal, making it his 5th goal of the season. James Jones and Mejd Al-Kadiri assisted Battaglias goal for the Capitals Academy and Gavin Schaeffer assisted Ladridos power play goal. Nykos Kobal assisted Lucas game-winning goal for Mid State. The final score was 2-1, with Mid State Mustangs claiming victory.
