The Loudoun Knights defeated the Union Thunder 3-2 in a close game of hockey on Saturday. Brennen Chalupsky and Jackson Powell each scored in the f irst period to give the Knights a 2-0 lead. Later on, Zachary Ramsey added another goal, giving them a comfortable 3 goal cushion.
Union Thunder put up a valiant effort in the second period. Luca Burgio scored two goals and Ethan Nelson added one with the help of William Reeds assist to make it a close battle going into the third period. However, Jagger Zedmachson, who also had assistance from Liam Duffy, scored what would become to be the game-winning goal with just 2:43 minutes left on the clock.
Despite their loss, The Union Thunder put up an admirable fight and can be proud of their performance this weekend.
