Genesis Hockey club and the Woodbridge Wolfpack squared off in an exciting game of hockey last night. The Genesis Club emerged triumphant, but it was not without a fight from the Wolfpack.
Nolan Shaw, who plays for the Genesis Club, started things off with a goal at one minute and four seconds of the first period.
Next, Genesis Club’s Sean Cutter added yet another goal 19:34 minutes of the first period, assisted by Richard Wiener in an impressive play.
Woodbridge was not deterred, with Brady Gottschalk scoring shortly after with an assist from Jimmy Sparacio and Justin Tanjutco at 1:21:16. Woodbridge also had another successful powerplay shot thanks to Anthony Matto at 1:21:59, who capitalized on an empty net goal opportunity.
At 1:22:24 Richard Kisell scored a shorthanded goal on Diego’s behalf, leaving the score with Genesis up 4-2 during the second period break. To close things out Ryan Douglas finessed a shorthanded goal for Woodbridge at 2:04:10 in the second period taking it to 4-3 . In spite of woodward’s efforts, against all odds Genesis sealed their victory with a final score standing at 4-3.
